Maghera is a small market town situated at the foot of the beautiful Sperrin Mountains, in the county of Londonderry in Northern Ireland, and it is home to over three thousand people. Its fascinating history is captured all around, dating back many centuries. Visitors will uncover the nearby ancient Megalithic Burial Tomb of Tirnoney, and the impressive ruins of the Monastery built in the 6th Century which is reached at the end of a long lane where there is still a poignant wall sculpture to be seen said to be the oldest in Ireland.
