Aviemore is a resort town in the Strathspey area in the Highlands of Scotland, 27 miles south-east of Inverness, situated in the heart of the beautiful and wild Cairngorms National Park. The historic town of Aviemore has been in existence since c1600, although there are evidence of earlier settlements in the area with the Ring Cairn and Stone Circle dating back 4000 years. The Cairngorms are the largest mountain massif in Britain; the mountains were carved over 350million years ago during the last Ice Age.
