Wick is a Gloucestershire village that lies on the A420 between Bristol and Chippenham, south of the Cotswolds and not far from the Georgian splendour of Bath. The nearby area, known as the Golden Valley, is quintessentially English and is very popular with not only walkers, bird-watchers and equestrians - but is also a favourite destination for hot air balloonists! The local church, the Victorian built St. Bartholomew's, faces the watermeadows of the River Boyd that bisects the village. The nearby Blue Lodge was once home to Anna Sewell, author of the famous Black Beauty novel.
