Whittlesey is a town with two churches, set on the western edge of the Fens in Cambridgeshire. The town Centre has a labyrinth of streets that showcases architecture from several Centuries, the 17th Century Butter Cross stands proudly in the Market Square, and the old River Nene gently snakes itâ€™s way past the edge of town. Whittlesey has an interesting Museum with a wealth of archaeology, costumes and even a 1950â€™s post office. Or there is always Flag Fen Bronze Age Museum, where the fascinating magical story of Bronze Age times unfold, with re-constructed Round Houses, the oldest wheel in Britain, and even a Roman Herb Garden, all set in 28 acres where the opportunity to enjoy lakeside Walks, with Swans, and Ducks for company is rarely beaten.
