Whittlesey is a town with two churches, set on the western edge of the Fens in Cambridgeshire. The town Centre has a labyrinth of streets that showcases architecture from several Centuries, the 17th Century Butter Cross stands proudly in the Market Square, and the old River Nene gently snakes it’s way past the edge of town. Whittlesey has an interesting Museum with a wealth of archaeology, costumes and even a 1950’s post office. Or there is always Flag Fen Bronze Age Museum, where the fascinating magical story of Bronze Age times unfold, with re-constructed Round Houses, the oldest wheel in Britain, and even a Roman Herb Garden, all set in 28 acres where the opportunity to enjoy lakeside Walks, with Swans, and Ducks for company is rarely beaten.
