Situated on the North Somerset Coast at the edge of the Bristol Channel, Weston Super Mare is a typical English seaside resort. Like other coastal towns it suffered from the trend for the British to take foreign holidays in the sun but Weston Super mare has remained a very popular destination. Weston Super Mare has all the attractions one might expect from a seaside town including two piers. The original Weston pier at Birbeck has seen better days and is now the subject of a rescue campaign. Its rival the Grand Pier, built after Birbeck, is still fully operational.
