Wavertree in Liverpool has a long history with local archaeological finds indicating that the area was first settled by pre-historic man in the Victorai Park area and in the Domesday Book Wavertree is known as Wauretreu. Its location saw the creation of the original village and it became an important agricultural centre with wheat, oats and potatoes being grown in the area. In the 1840’s Wavertree experienced rapid growth, it attracted the rich and wealthy from Liverpool where they settled and built their mansions and villas.
