Walkerburn is a small village in the Borders region of Scotland situated on the north side of the River Tweed two miles east of the village of Innerleithen and 8 miles from Peebles. Settlers to the area date back to the Pictish period, 600-700AD with the remains of ancient terraces discovered on Purvis Hill and Plora Hill. The village grew around its woollen mill established in 1850 and was an important area in the local textile industry, many Borders towns and villages are still well-known for producing tweed, tartan and cashmere and The Scottish Museum of Wool Textiles is located in Walkerburn Walkerburn is tranquil and picturesque surrounded by beautiful scenery and a variety of wildlife, the village has a hotel and restaurant, shops and amenities.
