Trefriw lies 8 miles S of Conwy (B5106). This lovely, small village is a good base from which to explore Snowdonia but itself has many attractions. Traditional Welsh bedspreads, tweeds and travelling rugs are manufactured at Trefriw Woollen Mill (continuously in operation since the 1830’s) The hydroelectric mill is powered by the water of the local lakes Crafnant and Geirionedd which are well worth exploring, as is the footpath above which leads to Fairy Falls - site of a C19th forge. For lovers of fine waters a visit to Trefriw Wells Spa is essential.
