Strathyre is a tranquil Highland village, 8 miles north Callander near Stirling in central Scotland. Lying on the west shore of Loch Lubnaig in the Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Strathyre is an access route to the Highlands and a convenient location to explore the well-known ‘Rob Roy Country’. Strathyre means ‘sheltered winding valley’ a good description with its setting amongst beautiful lochs, scenic mountains and breathtaking surrounding forest. Neighbouring Balquhidder is well-known for Rob Roy’s Grave.
