Strachur is a village on the east shore of Loch Fyne on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, with Loch Eck running parallel to the village on the south-east side. Strachur is an original stronghold of the clan Campbell; historically interesting features include Strachur Parish church dating back to 1789 with grave-stones dating back to 1300 and Strachur House dating c1780 built by General John Campbell. Tourism has been major industry since the early 1900s with steamers touring around Loch Eck and travelling along the Firth of Clyde from Strachur pier in the harbour heading to Glasgow.
