Shatterling is a scattered hamlet located along the A257 road, about two miles east of Wingham, in the Dover district of Kent. Shatterling is part of the parish of Staple, and lies to the north of the village. Shatterling has one pub restaurant, The Frog and Orange, located on the main A257 road. The building dates from 1728 when it was formerly known as The Green Man. There is a Bronze Age site at Ringlemere and Roman and Mesolithic sites at Wingham. Barnsole Vineyard, the oldest established vineyard in East Kent, is located in the nearby village of Staple.
