Selby is a bustling market town, situated in the heart of Yorkshire. Conveniently situated near to the A1 and M62, and close to Leeds and York, Selby and the surrounding area offers something for everyone. The central attraction has to be the 11th century Selby Abbey, birthplace of Henry I. Its features include Norman arches, the Washington window and the Cholera Burial Ground. For those interested in history, Cawood Castle, where Cardinal Thomas Wolsey was arrested, is nearby, as is the village of Towton.
