Saunton Sands is a three mile stretch of flat beach in North Devon. It provides excellent surfing opportunities and is used as a base for numerous water sports. The beach is perfectly situated for long walks and being three miles in length, it is possible to find a quiet spot even on the busiest Summerâ€™s day. The beach is backed by an expanse of sand dunes known as Braunton Burrows. They provide a safe place for children to play in and shelter for sunbathing. Braunton Burrows is one of the largest dune systems in the UK and has been designated Britainâ€™s first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
