A pretty village situated between Canterbury and Margate, Sarre is famous for two things. One is its working smock mill, one of the few windmills in England still producing goods for sale. At Sarre, the mill turns locally grown wheat into stoneground flour which can be bought at the gift shop. Visitors are welcome to tackle the steep climb to the top of the windmill. They may also browse the ancient machinery exhibited at the museum, meet the animals in the farmyard and take a break for a cup of tea and a tasty treat from the mill's bakery.
