Sandy is a small Market Town in Bedfordshire, on the winding River Ivel, and once the home of a Roman Settlement, many of their artefacts and treasures are on show at the Town Council Offices. With ‘The Sandy Hills’, woodland, parkland and heathland close by makes this a pretty place to visit. The ’Greensand Ridge Walk’ runs through the town covering 40 miles of delightful scenery and interesting wildlife. The impressive 14th Century church of St Swithun’s has a Saxon Font, or perhaps a visit to the headquarters of the RSPB, based in Sandy Warren 100 acres of woodlands and beautiful gardens, why not follow one of the Nature Trails and try to spot one of the many varieties of birds and wildlife.
