Having only grown from village to a town around 120 years ago Rushden still seems like a large village possibly due to most residents spending their whole lives there working locally, which gives the place a homely feel despite being mostly industrial. Yellow sandstone Cotswold style, occasional thatched cottages and unique â€˜gingerbreadâ€™ style houses nestle among red brick Victorian terraces all overlooked by the superbly crocketed spire of the 14th century St.
