Porthcawl (population approx 16,000) is located on the south coast of Glamorgan overlooking the Bristol Channel, close to Bridgend. Easily accessible from the M4, Porthcawl has long been a favourite destination for holidaymakers as it hosts one of the largest caravan and camping parks in Europe at Trecco Bay. A traditional seaside town, Porthcawl has an extensive promenade and good beaches - two are of blue flag standard. Surfers particularly congregate at Rest Bay meaning it can be exhilarating rather than restful here.
