Plockton is a small village in the north-west Highlands of Scotland, situated 5 miles north-east of Kyle of Lochalsh on the south shore of Loch Carron. The village has been used to film scenes for TV programmes including Hamish Macbeth starring Robert Carlyle, The Inspector Alleyn Mysteries and the film The Wicker Man. Plockton is a traditional fishing and farming village, it has preserved its heritage with the help of the National Trust for Scotland and is a popular tourist resort. The small scenic harbour is decorated with Palm trees and a row of little cottages and is haven for artists.
