Pitsea is a small town in the east of the Basildon district of south Essex. The skyline at the southern end of the town is dominated by the ever busy A13 Pitsea flyover and another prominent landmark is that of the 13th century church of St. Michael's. The church fell into ruin and only the main tower now survives and doubles as a mobile telephone aerial. Wat Tyler Country Park in an area of 125 acres, is home to a motorboat museum, various craft shops, a marina and a miniature steam railway.
