Once a grand residential area, Piccadilly today is a wide, busy street in London's West End, stretching from Hyde Park Corner past Green Park to Piccadilly Circus. Along the way, there's much to see and do. Piccadilly is graced by some splendid hotels: the Athenaem, Le Meridien, the Park Lane Sheraton and, most famously, the Ritz offer five-star hospitality. Always worth a visit is Fortnum & Mason, the Piccadilly store famed for its luxury food, wine and hampers. Another attraction is the Royal Academy of Arts, which hosts exhibitions and special events, while the Wellington Museum, in Apsley House, displays a collection of military memorabilia belonging to the first Duke Of Wellington, who lived there.
