Lying close to the borders of Oxfordshire and Warwickshire is the small town of Oxhill in the Vale of the Red Horse which is to be found just below Edgehill and is so called from the figure of a horse that was once carved into the red clay of the hillside. Tracing its history back to the time of the Domesday Book the village was then known as Octeselve, evolving over time to as it is today. Throughout its history the village of Oxhill has relied on agriculture and farming for its economy located as it is in the heart of the countryside.
