Ollerton is an interesting town positioned on the banks of the Maun River, between Boughton and Edwinstowe in the county of Nottinghamshire. It nudges the edge of the ancient historic Sherwood Forest which was once home to Robin Hood and his merry men. The town dates far back in history, and has delightful 18th Century Coaching Inns which still welcomes visitors today, just as in times past, as the town is positioned at the crossing point of two ancient Highways. Coal Mining played an important role employing many of the townsfolk across the years, and although the mines are now closed the legacy lives on.
