New Quay (Cae Newydd) on the Cambrian coast of west Wales lies 20 miles south of Aberystwyth and 18 miles north of Cardigan. This small town (population 1115) is a popular tourist destination in summer. Its sheltered harbour, overlooking Cardigan Bay with contrasting views towards majestic Snowdonia, is surrounded by narrow, terraced streets with interesting shops and galleries. The safe beaches are a delight for sunbathers and beachcombers alike. Wildlife enthusiasts can spot bottlenose dolphins, grey seals and the sometimes elusive Red kites.
