The village is seven miles east of Cromer along the quiet B1159, and as a somewhat refined resort it is about forty years ago from bustling Great Yarmouth at the end of that road. Mundesley sits on the cliff top above a delightful Blue Flag beach brightened with colourful huts, from where a few fishing boats are still launched. In the village there are all the amenities to make for a quiet and rather old-fashioned seaside break: a butcher, greengrocer, chip shop, pubs (the best known being the Royal Hotel, reportedly Nelsonâ€™s home for a time) and restaurants.
