Morley village in Derbyshire lies approximately 5 miles North East of Derby and is a residential area surrounded by working farms. Brackley Gates, site of abandoned quarries, is now a wildlife reserve managed by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and offers spectacular views of the North of the county. Still to be seen in Almshouse Lane, the 17th Century almshouses were originally erected to accommodate “6 poor, lame or impotent menâ€. The Three Horse Shoes pub is what was once the old village blacksmith’s Smithy.
