Lochranza is a small picturesque village at the north-west corner of the Isle of Arran in the Firth of Clyde, North Ayrshire in Scotland and is situated 13 miles north-west of Brodick. The village was built on both sides of Loch Ranza and named after it. Lochranza is surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, the ruins of the impressive 13th century Lochranza Castle and an abundance of wildlife including red-deer, golden eagles, seals, otters, peregrine falcons and much more. During the 19th century Lochranza was a major herring port, it is now a popular tourist destination ideal for anglers, walkers and nature-watchers.
