Llandeilo, named after St Teilo, is seven miles north of Ammanford . Entry is over the largest stone bridge in Wales . It also has a small suspension bridge officially called the King’s Bridge unofficially known as “the shaky one†Llandeilo sits close to the Black Mountains, overlooking the Tywi Valley. There are traces of Roman occupation and the town history is bound up with that of C12 Dinefwr Castle which occupies the site of an earlier iron age hill fort. Traditionally the seat of the Welsh Kings and Princes of Deheubarth this was the historic centre of lawmaking.
