Linwood is a tiny scattering of houses towards the western edge of the New Forest, four miles from Ringwood, in Hampshire. At its heart is the Red Shoot Inn, once the village store and post office and even the local petrol filling station. The hamlet remains little changed, although the Inn has been extended and now incorporates a campsite set behind it, set on 4 acres of land with direct access to the New Forest. The village has two pubs, the aforementioned Red Shoot Inn and the High Corner Inn.
