Kinlochleven is a picturesque village at the head of Loch Leven in the Highlands of Scotland, situated 20 miles south of Fort William. Kinlochleven grew from the tiny hamlets of Kinlochmore and Kinlochbeag, due to the growth of industry to the area in 1907 with an aluminium smelter, followed by a hydro-electric factory. The village lies is on the West Highland Way, a long distance footpath stretching 93 miles across the Scottish Highlands. Kinlochleven is a popular visitor resort ideal for walking, climbing, cycling, fishing and nature-watching.
