Kilkeel is a small town with a big reputation. Located on the south-east coast of County Down between the Mourne Mountains and the Irish Sea, Kilkeel was once the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Mourne - a term that's still sometimes coined today. There's some farming in and around this picturesque settlement, but its most important occupation is fishing. Kilkeel harbour, home to the largest fishing fleet in Northern Ireland, is always alive, colourfully, with boats and fishermen coming and going, loading and unloading, while seals swim hopefully around in search of a free meal.
