Keith is a town in Moray divided by the River Isla in Aberdeenshire, in the north-east of Scotland situated at the start of the ‘Malt Whiskey Trail’. Keith is well-known as the home of the Keith Kilt School, the only school in the world still teaching the art of kilt-making. ‘Old Keith’ lies on the west of the river and dates back to 1180 when it was used as a cattle-trade centre. ‘New Keith’ was planned and laid out in1755 and is the larger settlement.
