Jarrow is an historical town on the banks of the River Tyne in North East England home to 27 thousand people. It shares it’s intriguing past from Roman times through to the Jarrow Crusade in the ‘30’s. With historical buildings like St Paul’s church part of which dates back to the 7th Century, walk round to the back of the church and the remnants of a Medieval Monastery that was home to the Venerable Bede can be seen. Or perhaps the living Museum of Bede’s World will give an insight into his life.
