Instow is an enchanting pretty coastal village in North Devon, set on the River Taw and Torridge, half way betwixt Barnstaple and Bideford. Blessed with sandy beaches that are skirted by sand dunes, where colourful sails and dazzling views bewitch Artists as they capture the scene, or how about climbing aboard the Ferry as it sails to Appledore from the 17th Century Quay Walkers and cyclists are not forgotten with riverside walks and the wealth of wildlife on the Tarka Trail. Or nearby RHS Rosemoor Gardens is where the intoxicating scent of two thousand roses jostle for attention alongside the Herb Garden, and the invitation to enjoy a woodland walk or linger lakeside should definitely be taken, time it right and see the Beatrix Potter Exhibition.
