The busy little town houses its own pottery and many works of local artists can be found decorating Hatherleigh, not least among them the Rams Head sculptures in the Square. On Tuesdays Hatherleigh comes alive as bargain hunters gather at the auction and haggle at the market stalls for a deal or two. A traditional pub lunch is considered a vital element of market day in Hatherleigh.
