Hanley is an interesting old mining town, which is one of six that combined make Stoke On Trent, positioned in the county of Staffordshire. It was established as far back as the 13th Century and started out as a small village, since those humble beginnings it has expanded and thrived becoming the hub of the Potteries. It was granted its market charter in 1776 which continues today with the bustling weekly market that's found in Fountain Square. There is a definite vibrant feel when the sun goes down where a stroll around the town will uncover a choice of bars, welcoming pubs, excellent restaurants with tempting menus, and popular night clubs.
