Few sights in London are more awe-inspiring than the palatial buildings of Greenwich viewed from a river boat on the Thames. Here is a wealth of maritime history presenting itself so magnificently that Greenwich has been declared a World Heritage Site. Dominating the riverside are the fabulous baroque blocks and domes of the Grade I-listed Old Royal Naval College, partly designed by Sir Christopher Wren. First a hospital and then a training centre for sailors, it's used today by Greenwich University and Trinity College of Music.
