The village of Falfield lies towards the southern end of the Berkeley Vale, 4 miles east of the River Seven & 3 miles north of Thornbury. The A38 runs through the village and Junction 14 of the M5 motorway is just to the east. The early history of Falfield is somewhat hazy, there is believed to have been an Anglo Saxon settlement nearby and there is some evidence of Roman activity in the area. By the sixteenth century Falfield was, in the main, an agricultural community and the village was home to Farmers, Weavers and Tailors.
