The village of Failand lies in a rural area between the city of Bristol and the Bristol Channel. It is a small village with a 19th century church which was donated by Richard Vaughan to the parish in 1887. Unfortunately, he neglected to register it as a church and it did not actually become a recognised church until 1920! The church today houses an impressive tapestry depicting the Canterbury Tales. There are a number of attractions worth visiting in the area. Noah's Ark Zoo Farm has a great many exotic animals and offers a very child friendly experience, making it an ideal family outing.
