Eshott is a village in Northumberland, located 20 miles north of Newcastle, midway between Morpeth and Alnwick. A small former RAF aerodrome, Eshott Airfield, is located there. During World War II training on Spitfires was carried out there. Eshott Airfield is now used by recreational microlights and small light aircraft. It has both tarmac and grass runways and is also known as Bockenfield Aerodrome. The historic mansion house at Eshott Hall is now the North East's only five star stately home providing accommodation, wedding and conferencing facilities.
