Arguably the prettiest village in northwest Herefordshire, Eardisland is about 6 miles west of Leominster and a bridge nearby carries the B4529 road to Leominster over the River Arrow. The village grew up around a castle, the only indication of which now is a moated mound where the castle once stood (built to guard the road between England and Wales - the B4529). The river is lined with houses, boasting the oldest from the 14th century, with many half-timbered and timbered, hence the fact that Eardisland is on the Black & White Trail, created to encourage visitors to explore the wonderful countryside between Leominster and Kington.
