The village of Dulverton lies in the heart of West Somerset, close to the Devon border. Dulverton is considered to be the Gateway to Exmoor, a National Park situated on the Bristol Channel coast of South West England. The headquarters of the Exmoor National Park Authority are situated at Exmoor House at the western end of the village. The villagelies between two rivers, The Barle and The Exe. The Salmon Traps on the Barle are a popular attraction only 10 minutes walk away from Dulverton. The village has been described as 'a true Exmoor gem' and its origins go back at least as far as its mention in the Domesday Book of 1086.
