Dartington in South Devon on a great bend of the river Dart is situated not far from Totnes along the main road from Buckfastly. Although the famous Dartington glass can be purchased in its shops, visitors are surprised to learn it is actually manufactured in Great Torrington in the North of the county. The gardens of the 14th Century Dartington Hall at Totnes are well worth a visit. Features include grass terraces, woodland walks, wild flower meadows and a landscaped Japanese garden providing a quiet and tranquil spot for contemplation.
