Cullen is a historic coastal village in Moray in Scotland situated on a hillside overlooking the old Sea-town in Cullen Bay on the Moray Firth, 25 miles east of Elgin. The original settlement was established by 1189, a chaplaincy was endowed in 1327 by Robert I and Cullen was granted a royal burgh charter in 1455. The village was later moved to higher ground to incorporate park-land and in 1811 the current village of Cullen was planned and built as a regular grid-plan with central-square.
