Criccieth is a small attractive holiday resort situated on Tremadog Bay in North Wales and is unusual in its location. As well as views across Tremadog Bay it also has views across Cardigan Bay and set high on a rocky outcrop are the ruins of a medieval castle – Criccieth Castle one of the few Welsh castles built by a native Welsh Prince in the 13th century. Rising behind the town are the Cambrian Mountains and this geography means that Criccieth enjoys a climate quite different from that of the mountains of Snowdonia.
