A pretty coastal village on the North Cornish Coast, it was once the centre of religious activity before the Norman Conquest. The Norman church still survives and has impressive wood carvings and stained glass windows. At the centre of the village is ’The Round Garden’ owned by the National Trust, was once the sight where one of seven Celtic churches stood, today an orchard and a pleasing place to dwell. When thirst or hunger strikes, why not try the Tea garden for a ‘cream tea’, or one of the two pubs for a bite or something stronger.
