Combe Down is a village that sits on the outer edges of the World Heritage Site of the City of Bath in Somerset, home to nearly five and a half thousand people. It's only a mile and a half from the city centre of Bath, and lies adjacent to the Cotswolds, and the valley of the River Avon. It's intriguing history from the Romans, to the 17th Miners have left a legacy today which sees a massive project to infill the Combe Down Mines, once used to quarry the creamy, golden hued stone known locally as Bath Stone which adorns the elegant Georgian Crescents of Bath, and even Buckingham Palace.
