Chilton is a village and the most southerly parish in Oxfordshire, approximately 6 miles from Didcot and near the market towns of Abingdon, Wantage and Newbury. It is most famous for the Chilton/Harwell Science and Innovation Campus that started out as The Rutherford High Energy Laboratory on the former RAF Harwell airfield between Chilton and Harwell in 1957. It is now a community of science and technology based enterprise including major national and international science projects and facilities.
