Approximately nine miles north of Alnwick in Northumberland, in north east England, is the little rural hamlet of Chathill. It is situated three miles inland of the Northumberland coastline, which has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The area is home to several seabird reserves and welcomes increasing numbers of tourists each year. Chathill lies on the main road to the coast near to the fishing village of Seahouses and is where many stay as a base. For those visiting there is a working harbour port and active fishing as well as regular boat trips which run from there to the Farne Islands to see the sea birds and seal colonies.
