Carnlough is a small bayside village that enjoys some of the most inspirational scenery in Ireland. It's situated at the foot of Glencloy - the second of the beautiful nine Glens of Antrim - on the Antrim Coast Road, itself sensationally scenic. Carnlough's main claim to fame, apart from its stunning location, is the Londonderry Arms Hotel, a Georgian house once owned by Sir Winston Churchill. The hotel is part of a conservation area that includes a picturesque 18th Century harbour (now renovated and used by pleasure craft, yachts and fishing boats), a railway bridge and a former town hall, all built from local white limestone.
