The town of Caerwys is to be found in North East Wales in the County of Flintshire and is probably one of the smallest towns in the United Kingdom yet it manages to offer residents and visitors alike a range of local shops and services. Originally a Roman outpost it has been suggested that the local church, of St Michaels’ is built on the base of a former Roman observation post. Caerwys also has a connection with Pennsylvania in the United States – the founder of Pennsylvania was one William Penn who had a close personal friend called Thomas Wynne who was from Caerwys.
